2ND Annual High School Art Contest
$1000 GRAND PRIZE
Three winners will be chosen from each participating school.
1st prize   $150
2nd prize $100
3rd prize $50

The first prize winners will display their art at the Brentwood Iris Garden's Iris festival on April 11th, 2009. The public will choose the Grand Prize winner from the 1st Prize winners. Brentwood Iris Garden will then purchase the Grand Prize winning submission for $1000.

Art work must have iris theme.
Contest open to all current high school students.
Submissions completed by March 30, 2009 to be judged.

La Paloma Leadership is having their Pennies for Patients contest. Bring all of your Pennies to your counselors class and drop them into their white box, the teacher with the most pennies at the end will earn a reward for their counselee's.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, based in White Plains, NY, is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $550.8 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.
2009 Congressional Art Competition Guidelines


In order to allow artwork to hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol, the following restrictions are enforced: All artwork must be framed according to the appropriate framing guidelines, listed below.  Artwork must conform to the restrictions: Artwork must be two-dimensional Each piece can be no larger than 30”x30”x4” (30 inches  high, 30 inches wide, and 4 inches deep) including the frame. Artwork cannot weigh more than 15 lbs. Each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Any entry which has been reproduced from an existing photo (not the student’s own), painting, graphic, advertisement, or any other work produced by another person is a violation of the competition rules and will not  be accepted.
